answers 0:When we have been eating it since our species first came into existence? We have always been omnivorous. Many people still have elongated canines, including myself. How do you explain that? Obviously this garbage about humans being built for only herbivorous diet is crap. While I do agree that animals are being mistreated during 'animal farming', I do believe that normal hunting, for the explicit purpose of food, is not wrong, and has been done for thousands, millions of years by humanoid species. I do not believe that vegans/vegetarians are bad people, nor do I dislike them for their lifestyle, but I am sick of being called a murderer because I prefer to eat life forms with flesh, over life forms with chlorophyll. We are still killing to eat, be it plants, or animals, to me it's all the same. However don't get me wrong, I do! believe in conservation, environmental protection, as well as restrictions on hunting, and fishing, as well as bans on the killing of threatened species. I do understand that animals are being treated cruelly when farmed and as such I am planning on only eating meat that I myself, or a friend, has hunted legally. How many others would say this is a good change?...Show moreanswers 1:My body digests it perfectly. I have never had any problems with digestion, bowels, etc. In fact I have only been sick once in the past 10 years, maybe with the exception of a cold or allergies. I am in the best shape of my life.answers 2:@Xiong Mao: That is an isolated occurrence. There is still absolutely no scientific evidence to support that ALL humans are designed for a plant only diet. Maybe some have adapted to it, it could be genes, but the human race at large, is still designed for eating flesh. The scientific proof I have just provided speaks volumes. Our bodies are designed for eating! meat. I have eaten meat my entire life, I am not sick, I am i! n perfect health, explain that. Tell me how I could be in such good health if I have 20 lbs of rotting meat sitting around in my body. Tell me how entire tribes of people survived on only meat. Tell me that....answers 3:I couldn't copy everything from that site, haha, for both copyright reasons, and space.answers 4:I just fenced in my 10 acres and plan to raise my own beef for my family (I already have 40 fruit trees growing). My neighbors raise and slaughter their own chickens but most of us are doing things like this because we don't think grocery bought food is always safe. I hunt as well and see no problem with it at all, however I'm not going without a steak while my cattle grow and as far as someone labeling me evil because I eat an animal...well my only response to that is "There certainly nuts."...answers 5:Well. An autopsy of an American adult male who consumed meat regularly showed that at the time of death, he had 20 lbs of rotting meat sitting in his digestive t! rack. Now how can that be healthy? Also, the first human skulls ever found indicate that primitive man did not consume vast amounts of meat due to a lack of a set of canines. Besides, if you think about it, MOST (not all) carnivorous humans in this day and age are basically vultures: they wait around for the cow, chicken, etc, to be butchered and packed. Then they all flock to the stores to buy up this shrink-wrapped rotting carcus to have as a meal at home.P.S: I'm not saying that just because someone eats meat, they are unhealthy; I'm not saying that only vegetarians are healthy. I'm just saying that many people overdo it when it comes to eating meat. Besides, you are not really providing any proof that eating meat MAKES YOU HEALTHY. You are not providing very much information from credible sources to support your arguement....answers 6:Myth: The human body is not designed for meat consumption.Human physiology clearly refutes this false claim. The stomach's production of! hydrochloric acid is unique to meat-eaters - it activates protein-spli! tting enzymes (and it is something not found in herbivores). Then there is the human pancreas, which produces a full range of digestive enzymes for handling both animal and vegetable foods. Our very physiology (and dental structure) demonstrates we are "mixed feeders" or omnivores....answers 7:Myth: Meat-eating causes osteoporosis, kidney disease, heart disease, and cancer. This claim does not reconcile with the facts of history and anthropological research. All of the diseases mentioned have occurred primarily in the twentieth century, whereas people - and long-lived people at that - have been eating meat and animal fat for thousands of years! The truth is that recent studies demonstrate that vegan and vegetarian diets predispose women to osteoporosis. As for kidney disease, meat contains complex proteins and vitamin D, both of which help maintain pH balance in the bloodstream. Meats (...) such as beef, fish, and lamb, are good sources of magnesium and B6, which help limit t! he risk of kidney stones.Nothing in nutritional science supports the claim that eating meat causes cardiovascular problems. The French eat large amounts of meat and enjoy low rates of heart disease, and the same is true in Greece. The claim that eating meat causes cancer is based on a flawed study by...answers 8:...meat is a good source of protein but the body finds it hard to digest... pros and cons.answers 9:i can'tanswers 10:A lot of it is morals. (I love meat though, and eat it all the time) Also, I think there has been studies that have shown that a diet with very low o amounts of meat and a high vegetable diet has been better for you since thats what our common ancestor eats.answers 11:My source: http://www.sodahead.com/living/how-humans-are-mean...
