A question about Global Warming?

David Kuper: Global warming is not a hoax. It is real. Happens after every ice age. The hoax comes in when attempts are made to blame the activities of humans for ALL the global climate changes. It got worse when the politicians got involved. When Al Gore started preaching about human caused global warming it was only a matter of time before the train went off the track.

Dramatic rise in sea levels might take years and that too after the nation of Maldives goes under, in Indian Ocean and after the lower reaches of the hundreds of Bangladesh's estuarine lands are taken over by the Bay of Bengal. Already the pattern of rains which come as per 'calender dates' is thrown out of gear. That led to the delay of monsoons by two months last year. This year's monsoon is good so far after a severely hot summer that was unusual in some places. Whole of agricultural operations and food production will affect a billion people. Even the economy depends on monsoon and not on stock-market. But stock-market is severely affected by monsoons.There is a prognostication that the Global warming might be good for tropics (with copious rains) but might reduce the mid-latitudes to deserts. While feeling sorry for the mid-latitudes, India may welcome if there is such a thing. It affects t! he whole world. However I must say that there are tell-tale sy! mptoms of climatic changes occurring sporadically. If we wait for definite changes it might be too late. Such changes could be 'Gulf Stream' loosing its verve and warming ability in Norwegian Sea and Barents Sea. Russia's Arctic shores thawing and enabling shipping there as well as on Canadian Queen Elizabeth Archipelago (Second biggest). Severe summer heat seering areas immediately outward of the Tropics of Cancer & Capricorn. Also, the cold Humboldt current might warm up or vanish reducing the fishes in SE Pacific drastically wiping the whole ecology there. These answers are to be sought prior to the visitations of the worst. A strategy can only be evolved then.
