Donny Bankson: A great performing arts school you should look into is - Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan. It is an elite performing arts boarding school to facilitate music - vocal, orchestra, and instrumental. They have dance students, visual arts, and academics. They have the academy for the regular school year, and a summer camp which usually lasts for 6 - 8 weeks. I attended the academy for the school year, my senior year of high school. I play the flute, and it was the most amazing experience of my life. I finally got to be around other talented musicians who wanted to play. It was a motivating and inspiring environment all around. The campus is in Northern Michigan, and behind my dorm was a big lake. Beautiful environment filled with talented students from all 50 states & many countries. It is an honor to be accepted into this school, as in my situation, with the flute, they only took 16 flutes that year, and I was one of them. Also, they limit their! enrollment to about 425 students a year. It is an expensive school, however, there are many donors, who give great scholarships to those who need it. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone who is serious about their art that they love. Look it up on the internet - Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, Michigan. I do believe they will send you a packet of info, and perhaps a video if you are interested in seeing what it is all about. Good Luck! I know she would love it!...Show more
Gale Hartt: CalArts. CalArts was started by Walt Disney. If you attend CalArts, you get in due to talent, not due to grades. At that school, grades do not matter. They believe that anyone with talent should be educated without the typical academic influence.
