Discus Fish Compatibility with Fire Eel? Also general discus care?

Lashawn Zabarkes: Discus Fish Compatibility

Floy Fague: Discus fish should be kept in a group of 6 not two i think you should take a look at this forum before you do anything else

Annabell Bevier: Hi there,No disuse and eel..So you want to know about discus first things first. You will need 6 in a group why you might ask is one they are very social fish second the are cichilds and tend to bully each other if less them that. So you will need a 60 gallon or bigger. But as you said you are getting a 125 gallon so that be perfect. In the mean time water temp should be between 82-90f. And if there 2.5 you will need to feed then 4-6 times a day and water changes everyday. They will be ok in the 30 gallon until u up grade. I hope things go well. Almost forgot since there so small you need a bare bottom tank. Also I have a 115 gallon with 10 discus..Want to know more go to simplydiscus in the fourmsLot of ppl to help and pros. Also sponsers withhold quality discus..! ..Show more

Judie Kise: I persoanlly wouldn't put discus with fire eels.Discus really need to be the apex of the tank. Also they need different water conditions. Discus need about 84 or 29 to keep them in peak condition. Also they require softer water. For your discus i'd go with water changes every other day of about 25%Good move on not breeding the bettas in a dorm really! In all honesty they aren't as hard to keep as you would think. Just no ammonia!Good luck...Show more

Jorge Gerrero: Eels and discuss, big no-no! Discuss can work with tank mates that are absolutely no threat to them, that means smaller and peaceful. A lot (but not all) tetra species could work.I think your googling skills need work, discuss is among one of the best documented species out there.http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/discusfish/ or http://www.aquarticles.com/articles/breeding/Galla...for example.Discuss care is really all about 4 keywords- soft- warm - spacious- calmprovide those and y! ou stand a good chance of keeping these two for a decade at le! ast....Show more

Comment faire des œufs brouillés crémeux

Comment faire des Å"ufs brouillés crémeux

Servir.

who invented the first air conditioning?

Melissa Lavallie: Carrier

Ardath Templer: Best Answer - Chosen By VotersIn 1902, only one year after Willis Haviland Carrier graduated from Cornell University with a Masters in Engineering, the first air (temperature and humidity) conditioning was in operation, making one Brooklyn printing plant owner very happy. Fluctuations in heat and humidity in his plant had caused the dimensions of the printing paper to keep altering slightly, enough to ensure a misalignment of the colored inks. The new air conditioning machine created a stable environment and aligned four-color printing became possible. All thanks to the new employee at the Buffalo Forge Company, who started on a salary of only $10.00 per week....Show more

Madie Strople: The 'Apparatus for Treating Air' (U.S. Pat# 808897) granted in 1906, was the first of several patents awarded to Willis Haviland Carrier. The recognized 'father of air conditioning' is Carrier.

Natalya Sydney: I WON'T ARGUE... BUT! BTU MEANS BRITISH THERMAL UNIT, & TONS CAME FROM HOW MANY TONS OF ICE WERE NEEDED TO DROP THE TEMP 1 DEGREE ( IN A CERTAIN AREA OF SQ FT ) THE BTU WAS ASSIGNED AS A UNIT OF MEASURE. THE LIMEY'S WERE WORKING ON IT TOO, BUT IT TOOK AN AMERICAN TO FIGURE IT OUT!

Cornelius Thornborrow: Willis Carrier did.He owned a print shop and the paper was sticking together in the humid summer.

Ignacio Imbier: "stupid cupid" got that info from here...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_conditioner#Histo...

Willa Holte: Some guy with a block of ice and a fan.

Jeannine Vassie: While energetically moving heat to provide air conditioning is a relatively modern invention, the cooling of buildings is not. The ancient Romans were known to circulate aqueduct water through the walls of certain houses to cool them off, thus cooling the interior air. As this sort of water usage was expensive, generally only the wealthy could afford such a luxury. In 1820, British scientist and inv! entor Michael Faraday discovered that compressing and liquefyi! ng ammonia could chill air when the liquefied ammonia was allowed to evaporate. In 1842, Florida physician Dr. John Gorrie used compressor technology to create ice, which he used to cool air for his patients in his hospital in Apalachicola, Florida.[1] He hoped eventually to use his ice-making machine to regulate the temperature of buildings. He even envisioned centralized air conditioning that could cool entire cities.[2] Though his prototype leaked and performed irregularly, Gorrie was granted a patent in 1851 for his ice-making machine. His hopes for its success vanished soon afterwards when his chief financial backer died. Gorrie did not get the money he needed to develop the machine. According to his biographer Vivian M. Sherlock, he blamed the "Ice King," Frederic Tudor, for his failure, suspecting that Tudor has launched a smear campaign against his invention. Dr Gorrie died impoverished in 1855 and the idea of air conditioning faded away for 50 years.Early commercial! applications of air conditioning were manufactured to cool air for industrial processing rather than personal comfort. In 1902 the first modern electrical air conditioning was invented by Willis Haviland Carrier. Designed to improve manufacturing process control in a printing plant, his invention controlled not only temperature but also humidity. The low heat and humidity were to help maintain consistent paper dimensions and ink alignment. Later Carrier's technology was applied to increase productivity in the workplace, and The Carrier Air Conditioning Company of America was formed to meet rising demand. Over time air conditioning came to be used to improve comfort in homes and automobiles. Residential sales expanded dramatically in the 1950s.In 1906, Stuart W. Cramer of Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, was exploring ways to add moisture to the air in his textile mill. Cramer coined the term "air conditioning," using it in a patent claim he filed that year as an analogue to! "water conditioning", then a well-known process for making textiles ea! sier to process. He combined moisture with ventilation to "condition" and change the air in the factories, controlling the humidity so necessary in textile plants. Willis Carrier adopted the term and incorporated it into the name of his company. The first air conditioners and refrigerators employed toxic gases like ammonia and methyl chloride, which could result in fatal accidents when they leaked. Thomas Midgley, Jr. created the first chlorofluorocarbon gas, Freon, in 1928. The refrigerant was much safer for humans but was later found to be harmful to the atmosphere's ozone layer. "Freon" is a trade name of Dupont for any CFC, HCFC, or HFC refrigerant, the name of each including a number indicating molecular composition (R-11, R-12, R-22, R-134). The blend most used in direct-expansion comfort cooling is an HCFC known as R-22. It is to be phased out for use in new equipment by 2010 and completely discontinued by 2020. R-11 and R-12 are no longer manufactured in the US, the ! only source for purchase being the cleaned and purified gas recovered from other air conditioner systems. Several ozone-friendly refrigerants have been developed as alternatives, including R-410A, known by the brand name "Puron".Latest air conditioners usually have air sterilization effects, such as the recent air conditioners that have germicidal and neutralization benefits hope this helps, i just looked it up in the net anyway...Show more

Drinking alcohol, does it cause diseases? or is it a disease?

Armando Somes: Drinking alcohol is both a disease and causes diseases. It causes liver disease, alcoholism which is also considered a disease.

Norma Marsalis: does both

Wilbert Shellgren: No drinking is not a disease - alcoholism is. Until you have experienced its effects, you probably won't understand.

Barrett Felicia: The addiction and abuse to alcohol is a diseases and the cause and affect can cause you long term illness.Alcoholism is an argumentative subject to many. But to the medical community yes it is a disease. If you are asking questions then has it gotten to a point you need answers that someone in your shoe's may have. here are some links that may be helpfull.http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/alcoholism/DS0034...andhttp://www.alcoholics-anonymous.org/?Media=PlayFla...also there is AA on linehttp://www.aaonline.net/and here is a 20 question survey to am i an alcoholichttp://alcoholism.about.com/od/tests/a/quiz_alcoho...GOOD LUCKRemember Being an ! Alcoholic Doesn't make you a bad Person and Don't get caught up in the stereotypes that alcoholic's are people who sleep in street gutters unclean Etc etc etc But even that person has a heart feelings and deserves respect as do you NO mater what there addiction may or may not Be....Show more

Rocio Karvis: So, I have to ask, why are you protesting so much? Are you addicted? Or is someone you know addicted? If the answer is no, then why do you care? What's it to you?

Gaylord Barragan: When I was younger, I went to counseling because my dad is an alcoholic. The counselor told me alcoholism is a disease, and I refused to believe it. (Exactly because of your reason), how can putting liquid down your throat be classified as a disease??The definition of disease is: "any harmful, depraved, or morbid condition." According to the definition, alcoholism can be considered a disease because it's a harmful condition.I still have a hard time accepting this, but it's true.! My dad is 50 this year, and he's had this disease for 36 year! s! I currently work in an Alochol and Drug rehabilitation unit, and we refer to alcoholism as a disease here too... even if you stop drinking, you will always live with the disease. It's difficult to wrap your mind around this: they consider violence a disease as well!Alcoholism also causes diseases, like.. to the liver. I hope this helps you. It appears you were looking for someone to agree with you that it isn't a disease, but it is. My dad does not accept this either. Good luck...Show more

Asa Soho: defently not a disease.. but it does have side effects i.e. liver failure. **** luck with getting the word out :]

Denna Prudente: if we drink alcohol it damages the nerves of our body .

Would you recommend Bally's Fitness? Why or why not?

Salvatore Walls: BALLYS IS GOOD IF YOUR NOT TRYING TO BE A PROFESSIONAL BODYBUILDER..THEY HAVE PLENTY EQUIPMENT GOOD ENOUGH..ALSO I JOINED YEARS AGO..AND NOW I ONLY PAY $100.00 A YEAR FOR MEMBERSHIP THATS IT...SO THATS LESS THAN $ 10.00 A MONTH NOW...DO IT ...BUT MAKE SURE YOU GET THE RENEWAL MEMBERSHIP

Antonia Mogg: well the one i go to sucks ! they are under staffed and they never called me back after a made an appointment to see a personal trainer save ur money and join W.O.W or some other gym

Raelene Cunnick: My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home. The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your me! tabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!...Show more

what are diets simaliar to these...?

Leontine Kreitz: there are literally hundreds of diets like them. you get the low carb diets like the atkins and south beach etc. you get low fat diets like weigth watchers and slim fast etc. however the diets you mentioned, the grape diet, the bread and butter, the cabbage soup diet, the maple syrup diet etc those diets are all in the same catergory of diets - stupid fad diets lol ive pretty much done them all! which is probably no suprise why am long suffering an eating disorder.they are crash diets! they work from you taking in very little calories so ofcourse you lose a bit of weight fast but they are dangerous. the worst part is tho they are absolutely impossible to stick to and it results in you giving up and putting all the pounds you lost (and their friends damnit) back on!my point is they just aint worth it, from experience the best diet you can do is something high in protein and fibre! both make you feel fuller and stabilize your blood sugar (u wont crave snack! s) they are better quality foods rather then sugary carbs like skittles that will drive your blood sugar levels crazy. good quality foods! wholeweat carbs, eggs, protein and veggies of course!exercise can suppress your appetite i found, even things like walking the dogs it hasnt got to be strenuous! it also speeds up weight loss as you probably already know. also try green tea =) it sounds faddy but it speeds up your metabolism and is full of antioxidants and sooo good for youplease just forget the wacky fad diets they arent the answer. look after your health! xx...Show more
